Retired Military Pathologist releases first ebook story collection.
NOW AVAILABLE FOR REVIEW
Williamsburg/Virginia/USA/January 21, 2018 – Retired US Army Pathologist Dr. (COL) B. Harper shares three pieces of his work which each, in their own way, deal with Death: either avoiding it, or confronting it. Available at Smashwords and Amazon on February 19, 2018.
GALLERY OF DEATH is a twenty-page, 5,000-word story collection which begins with “Coyote,” where a Cherokee Plainclothes Detective has twelve hours to rescue a kidnapped woman and keep his spiritual nemesis, Coyote, at bay.
In “Homeward Bound,” two soldiers attempt to evade the enemy and a pending air strike to make their way to safety.
“Catrina” is a personal essay describing an actual death scene investigation Dr. Harper performed, and his struggle to overcome the sterility of clinical terminology to accurately convey his findings.
As a bonus, the book contains an excerpt from his upcoming novel, A Knife in the Fog, scheduled for release on October 2, 2018 by Seventh Street Books, a subsidiary of Prometheus Books.
B Harper MD retired as a US Army Pathologist with thirty-seven years of world-wide military/medical experience, ultimately as a Colonel/Physician in the Pentagon. He is completing an Associate Degree in Creative Writing at Full Sail University, and has been published in The Strand Magazine, and Flash Fiction Magazine. His first novel, A KNIFE IN THE FOG, involving Arthur Conan Doyle in the hunt for Jack the Ripper, is slated for release by Seventh Street Books in October of 2018. A member of the Authors Guild and Sisters in Crime, he is a regular contributor to the Sisters in Crime bi-monthly newsletter.
When not writing, Dr. Harper can be found working as a professional Santa Claus. A kindly sort, he only threatens those on the Naughty List with burnt cookies.
GALLERY OF DEATH is his first story collection.
